Journal of the Study on Religion and History, edited by the Center for the Study of Religion and Chinese Society at Shanghai University, is published by Religious Culture Press.
The journal is dedicated to the interactive study of religion and history, emphasizing both history as the basic methodology of religious studies and highlighting religion as an important dimension in the perspective of history. The content of the journal focuses on the history of religions, with special emphasis on the introduction and study of newly discovered religious literature and materials, as well as a column in each issue. We emphasize both detailed case studies and international comparisons and interdisciplinary perspectives in an effort to achieve a good combination of documentation and theoretical interpretation.
The journal publishes two issues per year, adhering to the academic stance and welcoming contributions from authors with different perspectives and backgrounds, with an unlimited number of words, in Chinese, English and Japanese. The journal emphasizes the academic quality of articles, including sources, research methods, academic norms and ethics, etc. For this reason, the journal implements an anonymous review system.
Submission requirements:
I. Contributions should be academic and theoretical in nature, and innovative in topic selection, literature, theory, methodology or viewpoint.
Second, the manuscript should be accompanied by Chinese and English titles, abstracts, keywords. The author's name, title, work unit, mailing address, contact phone number is attached to the end of the text for contact.
Third, the journal notes in the form of footnotes, citing the literature should strictly abide by academic standards.
Fourth, the manuscript is responsible for its own, the editorial department of the journal has the right to make certain modifications or abridgement of the manuscript.
Please do not submit more than one manuscript. If the manuscript is not adopted after two months, the author can deal with it by himself/herself.
